Knixxen Out is Canada’s ground breaking northern Hip Hop duo. Made up of Alberta’s K.O, and female rapper Vixxen. Whether they’re delivering party music with upbeat feel good vibes, relatable home-hitting expressions, or love songs and sexy singles, Knixxen Out’s music is a reflection of their lives from moment to moment. The pairs diversity is evident, from confronting anxiety and depression to jams like recent single “Tik Tok” get crowds jumping all across western Canada
Their love for making music brought them together, but it wouldn’t be the only love they’d share. Both having the same tattoo artist, Vixxen released a Tech N9ne cover, which the artist quickly showed to K.O, and introduced the two. They began making music and eventually found love, with a complicated start, but determination, passion, time and a shared love for music brought them together again. Making their first song together for K.O’s 2016 album “A New Destiny”, they knew there was a musical spark.
K.O’s New Destiny was his response to being tied into a bad contract from 2011, and him taking his journey into his own hands. The combo of his marriage ending over a musical ultimatum and cutting ties with a best friend pushed Kane to put it all into his craft. Taking inspirations from hip hop with rock and pop undertones, the album has tones of catharsis and freedom all over it. It was during this time when Knixxen Outs first song, “Temptations” would be made, which they wrote and recorded their first studio session. Their 2017 song Pour Up received a Chevrolet sponsorship for a big music video at a local park, and that was where things kicked off. With the video doing over 50,000 views, they quickly started getting their first shows as a duo. Doing more than 50 shows across western Canada from march to December 2019, Knixxen Out had a full schedule booked when live entertainment took its hiatus.
K.O’s swagger and smooth flow mixed with Vixxen’s sultry style make for a jumping vibe that’s in a lane of its own. Their latest album, Aftershock is their first project under the title Knixxen Out, and was finally released August 25th, 2023, after years of development and multiple recordings to perfect it. Kane’s ear for perfection and desire to bring the highest quality sound possible, combined with found time in 2021 allowed them to work out all the kink’s to make exactly the sound their fans have come to love, while eclipsing their past quality. Following the 2020 release of Vixxens solo “This is Me” EP, Knixxen Out immediately got to work on Aftershock. Bringing fiery confidence and vulnerability with up tempo Rap and R&B Vibes, Vix’s Debut EP did over 160,000 streams, showing she’s clearly capable of standing strong on her own strengths. As Knixxen Out finally dropped "Aftershock", Its no question the waves will be felt far and wide!
